Thomas the Tank Engine was puffing along his branch line with his two faithful coaches, Annie and Clarabel. He had just arrived at the junction, where Daisy was waiting. “Good morning, Daisy.” Said Thomas. “What’s good about it?” grumbled Daisy. “I have to take this milk truck! Milk trains are bad for my swerves!” “Oh.” sighed Thomas. “I have an idea. I’ll take the milk today.” So Daisy left the milk truck to allow Thomas to have it coupled up to his coaches. “Lazy Daisy.” Sighed Thomas. “Why does she always say this truck is bad for her swerves?” Thomas had arrived at the big station, where the grocer was waiting. “Thomas?” the grocer exclaimed. “Where is Daisy? He didn’t like it when the small engines teased him. “Silly little engine!” he snorted. “The passengers prefer to ride with me. They know what a wonderful engine I am.” Gordon liked to look his best too. “The passengers mustn’t see me dirty.” He grumbled. “What would they think?” “I guess I’ll have to get him clean.” Said the guard. So the guard gave Gordon an extra polish to stop him fussing. “Come on, Gordon.” Said his driver.
