Barry’s Double Rescue.

Written by ArthurEngine.

Plot:
Barry was so pleased with his life on the Island of Sodor, that he couldn’t feel more welcome. He had spent his time working and rescuing other engines who had been having accidents. One day, when Gordon was pulling the Wild nor Wester, he stopped just before the viaduct.
“Oh, bother!” groaned Gordon. “What has happened to me?”
“You’ve run out of water.” Said his driver. “We’ll just have to wait for another engine to help!”
“Oh, the indignity!” moaned Gordon.

Just as the guard was about to phone for a signalman, Barry was coming along.
“Well, well, well!” laughed Barry. “What have we here?”
“I’ve run out of water.” Groaned Gordon. “I do need your help, please, Barry.”
“Certainly!” said Barry. “Anything for an engine!”
So Barry rolled up in front of Gordon, and pulled him to Crovan’s Gate Station. The passengers got off, and some got on.
“Thank you, Barry.” Said Gordon. “You really are a helpful engine!”
“Thank you, Gordon.” Said Barry.

Just as Barry and Gordon were leaving Crovan’s Gate Station, there was a goods train ahead. This train was being pulled by Boco, who had run out of diesel fuel.
“You’ve rescued me from scrap,” said Barry. “It’s my turn to rescue you!”
So Barry buffered up to Boco’s train, he was coupled up, and Barry pushed Boco’s train, all the way to Vicarstown Station. It was very hard work, but Barry managed.

When they reached Vicarstown station, Gordon and Boco both thanked Barry for his bravery.
“Thank you, Barry!” said Gordon. “You did such a splendid job, helping both of us!”
“It’s all because Boco rescued me from scrap,” said Barry. “So I’m helping him in return. That’s what friends do. They help each other.”
“Thank you, Barry.” Said Boco. “And all because I rescued you.”
Soon, after Gordon and Boco were uncoupled from their respective trains, Barry helped Gordon to the water tower where his tender was filled up, and then, Gordon puffed to the coal chute to load up with some coal.

Barry helped Boco to the diesel fuel station to fill his tank. Then, Boco’s tank was filled with plenty of diesel fuel. When Barry, Gordon and Boco arrived back at the big station, a big surprise waited for Barry. It was The Fat Controller.
“Well done, Barry!” said The Fat Controller. “For the big rescue you did with Boco and Gordon, I am proud to give you a home on Edward’s branch line!”
“Oh, thank you, sir!” said Barry. “I have wanted to work on Edward’s line since I came to this island. Edward is a very kind engine indeed.”
“Then it is settled.” Said The Fat Controller.

When Barry was given a place on Edward’s branch line, he was lucky, because Henry had returned from the works, feeing as good as new, and keen to get to work again. And then, Thomas’ branch line was repaired, and Thomas, Percy, Toby and Daisy could get back to work there. Barry loves working on Edward’s branch line. He does Edward’s work whenever Edward is ill or busy, and Edward, Boco, Bill, and Ben are pleased to have the company of Barry, the Rescue Engine.
The last chapter to my Barry saga. This pretty much copies "Super Rescue".
